Last fall I started a project to replace my heads & cam. At some point it got too cold to work in my unheated garage so I had to quit for the winter. Now that it is getting warm out I am picking up where I left off.
I am installing a new Lunati timing set to replace my original set. When I was installing it I noticed that the sprockets don't line up. The original cam sprocket sticks out about 1/8" from the cam, but the new one is flush. Because of this the cam & crank sprockets are offset by this amount when installed. Do I have the wrong timing set, or is this normal & acceptable?
