Halfway through wrestling the transmission out of my '78 I really began to wonder if it was worth the money I was saving. There are a couple more things I will be removing before I put it back in, or I don't think it will GO back in. I have headers and duals straight back, well almost "straight". They bend so they end up right underneath the transmission bell housing. I had to turn it sideways to pull it out. Should have pulled all the exhaust off in the first place I guess, but oh well. Might be easier if I was better at fixing cars, but that's why I get help. The good news is it is out and can be rebuilt now so it shouldn't be TOO long before I put it back in so I can drive her again. Been about a month since I stopped driving it and I miss it. Wish me luck putting everything back in!
On brighter note, I was at an SCCA competition here in the great flat town of Wichita, and I saw a 72 get better times than a 99 vette, a 93 (I think!) vette, and an NSX, just for starters. I also saw an Integra Type R that was having SERIOUS problems following the track. He went outside the track on at least 2 of the runs I saw him do. Good stuff. Later.
