Seat Upgrade
Does anyone know the "trick" for adapting '68 -'78 seat tracks to the '79 - '82 seat shells? Bolt holes line up but tracks do not fit well in space provided under the seat shells. Must you use '79 - '82 tracks?

I have the 80-82 seats, but have not installed yet. If I remember right, you have to use a spacer 1/2-3/4" to get the earlier rails to fit.
Hopefully one of the others that have done this will chime it.

I had to take the tracks from my 75 seats and bolt them to the bottom of my 80's seats. I then had to put a spacer on the front of the tracks to lean the seats back a bit. There's also a piece of plastic that has to be trimmed from the area that the handle that moves the seat back and forth comes out the front.

Don't the 78PC-82 seat rails fit directly to the floor anyhow?(I know you're trying to adapt the old rail to the new seat, but why not use the new rails?) In 78, the Pace Car came w/ the deep bucket seats, while all other 78s had the straight backs. I'm not sure how much new rails cost, so maybe spacing an older rail is a much better idea...
