I'm wondering if any others are experiencing the same problem I am. Whenever I take the car for a longer ride (1/2 hour or longer) with the top down my eyes wil get irritated and water for a couple days. I've had other convertables and did not have this problem. I also jet ski at high speeds for hours on end and never have this problem either (my eyes do water but it doesn't last). I've never had allergies but maybe it's happening now?
Anybody else experience this?
Thanks!

That is why I wear Sunglasses whenever the top is down and no problemo....If I ride with the top down on the SAAB I get about about HALF as much wind volume.....It unfortunately is a poor design for a vert

Check that the exhaust goes OUT the back of the car and does NOT terminate under the lip one bit....IF it does, that backdraft of the car will suck that fumes right back into the area under the top hatch...and into the pass compartment....
make sure everything is sealed really well, and thost tips protrude at least an inch or two from the back body shell.....could also be coming up the rear grills and into the pass area that way....
Re: Vert Owners - Anybody Else Have This Problem?? (Wrencher)
I've had a lot over convertibles over the years, and my C3 is undoubtedly the "windiest" of all of them. There are times punching it on the back roads that I get concerned the wind will blow the glasses right off my head.

I think it is just the wind force doing it. Unfortunatly, I wear glasses while driving (small lenses) so I'll need to get large prescription glasses or sunglasses.
I checked the exhaust but it sticks out a few inches and I don't smell any exhaust.
Thanks!

I ahve to put my sun visors straight up to help deflect most of the wind, I am 6'1" and don't have a problem with eye tearing, only wear my sunglassed during the day. I would like to get one of those back draft screens that my Merc SL had, stops the wind from hitting the back of your neck and makes for a much more enjoyable ride.

You really need quality sunglasses. I can go 5-6 hours with the top down. The UV radiation will irritate the eye. With the top down, a lot more light gets into your eyes whether or not you realize this. This UV radiation get especially bad when looking at light surfaces (sand, snow, concrete highways).
