Silvervetteman filled me in on how the Holley-rebuilt QJet I have on my '69 may have a power piston that was buggered by Holley (pin on the bottom cut off) and may be causing my driveability problems. Before I tore into it to look, I thought I'd call around and make sure the part was available. Can't find it nowhere, nohow. Anybody know where I can score a power piston for my Qjet?
Don't buy the whole carb. Just take your power piston in with you. Find one that matches. Pick up a few primary and secondary rods/hangers and other small parts, too.
Don't know if this helps but.....there are still some Carb shops still around, at least here in S. Fla. You might want to check the yellow pages. My buddy needed a gasket for a variable venturi carb (old POS), and the guy at the carb repair shop had it.
Just a thought.
Scrapyards. But there are probably hundreds of different power piston/spring combos and configurations for Chevy & BOP vehicles.
.
Ok ... First... there are only about five springs used.. and I have NEVER seem but one power piston.. I think you may be thinking of metering rods.
You can use the spring that you already have.I am sure that someone woll have a power piston. If not I know Where I can gtet one if it cones to that.

Trust me--there are many, many different power pistons for Q-Jets.
Make a phone call to Carbs Unlimited. http://www.quadrajet.com is their website where they say they can get many parts not listed. One of the guys there told me he could get a restored/reconditioned power piston for my 79 q-jet with an accurate description. I never followed up on it because I found a near new original carb. Good luck.
Edelbrock bought the rights/molds/etc. to the Quadrajet. A lot of places carry parts for the Edelbrock QJet, and can get them for you. For example, I got a set of jets from Autozone.
