I bought a standard steering wheel cover from Wal-Mart and it was way too big. The 82 has a smaller steering wheel than your average car. Are there any places that make steering wheel covers for late C3's?
Wheelskins sells the best fitting/easiest to handle/hardest to install wheel cover out there. I say hardest to install, because it requires about 45 min of sitting there stitching away-- it's worth it in the end, though. The leather they use is top grade, much better than the stuff you'd buy at a parts store. They direct fit the cover to our cars. If you have an aftermarket wheel, you can send in your own measurements for that, too. http://www.wheelskins.com
-Steve(I used one of those ones you buy at a parts store for a few years, perforated leather wrap with a vinyl stretchy thing that tightens it down. Fit pretty well, but the wheelskin is less bulky/looks more natural. Some people ask me if it's really hard to find a replacement wheel cover for my car, since the pace car came w/ the two-tone black/silver wheel cover on it. Ha ha. :) )
PPS They assume my wheelskin cover is stock.
