AutoMeter speedometer cable??

AutoMeter speedometer cable??

Am switching out my gauges and will need a different speedometer cable since the original one clips on the back of the speedometer and the AutoMeter screws on. For those who have already done this mod where did you get you cable and how long did you get?

If it's a standard 5/8" threaded connector, 68's had thread on instead of push on connector at the speedometer head.

Didn't think to check that on mine but the cable is bad anyway so I will need to replace it. It originally had cruise but it was removed and a single cable put in so I don't know what length it is or what it was supposed to fit.

Finally tracked down the cable. I'm sure there are probably others that will fit but one for a '67/68 Camaro will work. Has the right ends. However, it seems to come in various lengths from 43" to 83 inches although I don't know why. In any case the one I found at Advance Auto Parts - part # Y-804 - is 63" long for an automatic so it should work.
