I decided to drive the vette to work on Tuesday, 40 mile drive on the interstate in the middle of no where and the fuel pump failed 15 miles in to the drive. It was installed 1 1/2 years ago when I built the engine and it has about 5000 miles on it. I had to call a tow truck and luckily I got a operator that spent the time to get the car on the flat bed with out damaging it or scratching the powder coated frame or suspension. I pulled the pump off tonight and the lever pivot rod in the pump had broke away from the pump housing! The parts store stated it only had a one year warranty but I think this needs to be an exception. Will talk to them tomorrow evening.
At least you got a scenic view and cell coverage.
Never seen that before. My recently developed a leak, did my best to patch it up, but I am doubtful it will last. I have a Holley pump and I think it was made in some far away Asian country.
Just as a update I replaced the broken fuel pump with a new one from the parts store and the next day went to a auto x event. Car was running poorly and stalling. Turned out only 2 psi of fuel pressure. Got a ac delco pump now and all is working well.
