I know this has been discussed time and time again, but this time I am the one needing help. I can't make my mind up between the Torque Thrust II's, Hopsters, or the Edelbrock's. Any of these will probably have to be ordered and will probably take a while, so I need to get my mind made up soon so I can get them ordered. Recommendations on size (16X8 or 17x8) and tire size would also be helpful. Hope this isn't asking for too much! Thanks for any help and advice. This will be an expensive mod so I want to be happy with my decision.

Re: Need advice on wheels****I'm stuck*** (Steve Adkins)
I know that everyone likes the flashy new wheels, but I don't think anything in the world looks better than the 17" Wheel Vintiques Chrome Rallye wheels (on a steel bumper car) Check out http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/zwede for a look at Markus Strobl's wheels on his car. I think they look great and really go with a steel bumper 'vette.!
Re: Need advice on wheels****I'm stuck*** (Steve Adkins)
I have the TTII 17X8 with 255/45 zr17 but 255/50 is closer to the proper height of the tire/wheel that is original. I have no interference what so ever but my car is an 1980. I worked on a 1973 and the 255/60 r15 didn't interfere either at the front or the rear so I'm pretty sure you would be OK. IMO you don't need widder rim with 255. The tire sits great on those rim and it give a little cussion to prevent the wheel being grind on the side when parking near a sidewalk.

Im getting Eagle Alloys 2 piece wheel i forget the number but its a knock off of the TT2.. not exactly like it, but it works for me.. btw 17*8.5 all the way around with 255/50s
Re: Need advice on wheels****I'm stuck*** (Steve Adkins)
I have 4.5 BS all the way around. I have 9X17 fronts. 9's would allow for more sideway hold with small widths like 255's
smokedtires has 17X8 and I'm sure that he tell you that he had room to spare. Before i bought 17's i had run 15X8.5 with 4.5 all the way around for 10-12 years. so no way was i going to down grade on width.
Re: Need advice on wheels****I'm stuck*** (Steve Adkins)
Thanks Steve,
I was on 15" X 8 and it's night and day with the 17 X 8. I tought the ride would be harsh but it's not. It's a little bit more stiffer on bump but not by much. The great thing is the gain in handling. I think the tire has to do with it, rubber quality up to date. I turn corner a lot faster than before.
