I'm trying to remove the anti theft control switch that is alongside the driver's door key lock. If anyone has removed this switch before could you provide a short synopsis of how it was done?
Thanks
I just did the same only mine was under the passenger side dash, do you have any pictures and now how it is wired
It has a u shaped flange that slides into two slots on the door lock. I finally got it out. You slide it in the direction of the front of the car. The plunger that breaks the alarm circuit was sticking. I drenched the inside through two small hole on the switch with contact cleaner and lubed the plunger. It was a b*tch getting back in. The two long legs of the U shaped bracket have to slide on to the lock just right.
I just realized something. The switch I removed and cleaned may only be there in case the lock is punched out. Does anyone know if that's the case? I went out to check and the cylinder that the switch rides on doesn't seem to rotate. The problem I'm having is that intermittently the alarm will go off when I open the driver's door. Most of the time the alarm functions as designed but occasionally it malfunctions.
