You should be fine. I run 93 unleaded in both my big block and high compression small blocks. No pinging.

Thanks for the responses. My car is pinging on fairly hard acceleration and running on . Timing is spot on, advance is good, idle speed is correct. The seller sent the car to a shop to clean out the fuel system and rebuild the carb (it sat for years). I don't know what grade of fuel they put in the tank after the work. I will drain the tank tomorrow and put some 93 in it and hope it fixes the issue. I know 11:1 with all iron is kind of on the edge. I have an 11.5:1 with allum. heads and I have to mix alittle CamII to avoid run on. Thanks again

Some have been able to get their LT-1s and L46s to run on 93 Octane.

There have been some very in depth posts.

To run at optimum performance it will need more than 93 Octane. If you detune it some it will run okay on 93 Octane.

My L46 runs waaaay better with a little CAM 2. Mine is 100% stock.

Running a little cooler will help..no hotter that 180 thermostat. Make sure the fan, clutch and rad are ok, and rad is full with 50/50 coolant.

Thanks to all who responded. I drained tank (not knowing what the shop had put in it) put in 5 gallons of 93 and 2.5 gallons of camII . Everything OK. Now that I have a base line, I will slowly dial back on the CamII and see what the motor will tolerate
