Default demon is on its way

:reddevil i get the honor of testing this bad boy out tomorrow nite. i cant wait for this goodie.

on a side note, i gave the car a test run on one of the local backroads early yesterday morning. the holley was running fairly well considering its not tuned. i managed to pull over 100 mph at the end of the 1/4 mile. (we have the road marked off) :jester

I also need to tune the carb on my motor also. I just get so excitied I slap it on a run around for a little while. I just put a 650 DP from Demon on my zz4 oh I love mechanical secondaries. Now if it would just stop storming after I get off of work.

I absolutely love my Speed Demon 650 with mechanical secondaries. Starts right up (with no choke!), idles great, responds great. Right out of the box. Nice carb. :yesnod:

i got the 625 cfm road demon, with vaccum secondaries and electric choke.. i figured that was my best bet with the smaller small block that i have

anyone have any problems with it losing tune? and how much power did it give you if any?

I too have the Road Demon. No troubles with it losing tune but I haven't had it for years. It did a wonderful job with my L-48 and I suspect it would do a great job with an L-82 but it is too small for the ZZ4. Can't tell you the number of times I thought I had a gas leak when I came to a stop and exhaust fumes wafted forward. Don't seem to see any black smoke but you sure can smell it. It's not too bad. Idles nicely and has great throttle response. Even seems to have a good bit of get up and go.

I plan on snagging the Speed Demon calibrated for the ZZ4. Hopefully I'll be able to sell the Road Demon because it really is a great carb. Had planned on my next setup being EFI but I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get to that.

Enjoy your Demon.

Demon sells a 650 mech sec. that is set up for the ZZ4 (demon #1282010CZZ4). http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...art&catid=1922 There is a link to a chevy place that sells them. I ordered mine through summit racing last month. I still need to fine tune it, but man this thing runs.
