Default turn signals

have a 72 vette and the indicators wont work,hazard lights work ok,i have just replaced my steering column with a tilt-tele column,i had the same problem with my old non tilt tele column,now have same problem with new column,no indicators but hazard lights work fine,obviously its not the column,come someone shed some light on this problem Thanks Alan

Based on limited info, I'd check the flasher for the turn signals, it's different from the flashers.

yes have replaced the flasher unit

Default Check with the "ON"

Pull the directional signal fuse and check for continuity, then re-install the fuse and confirm that you have 12 volts on both sides of the clips that hold the fuse.

At the harmonica connection check for 12 volts at "L" as it sends the power up into the column.




Remember key "ON"

Just to check, you understood that the emergency flasher and turn signal flasher are two different flashers, correct? Measure for 12v on the input of the turn signal flasher, and for pulsing 12v on the output. If you have those, the problem is most likely in your wiring or connector to the turn signal switch.

To build on this comment, the turn signal flasher is the one located under the dash on the passenger side. I replaced mine recently.

It was the flasher unit on passenger side,sure saved a lot of time trying to find the problem,thanks very much for your help !! All the best Alan

Three if you count the one for the alarm.
