L88 FIA Headlights
I have wanted to put these on a car for several years now. I bought the pans from Fgregg 7 or 8 years ago and had them powdercoated semi gloss black.
Finally got a car I was willing to modify and this is the progress so far. I have had to modify the pans a bit to fit the later bumper structure. The backing plates are 65-69 corvair units. The inboard ends have been trimmed about 2 inches. I still need to trim the tops to fit the contours of the plexi covers, but I'll get to that when I have the covers in hand. I am using corvette bulb cups and trim rings. This is really a fairly easy job, and I sold the original headlights for enough to cover the project.
This is a "for grins" thing, not trying to make a race car out of this sorry old '76. I have eliminated about 25 pounds off the front end and about 36 feet of vacuum hoses, though!

My kit is still in the box. Need to replace the front clip and will install the as I'm busy with the engine mods. I was on CAC and there is a post of racing C3s at Amilla Island and the majority of them had the FIA head lights. T

Cool look….
At the very least, put some Hella Euro Lead Chrystal Halogens in those buckets for some serious light output. For even better light output and a lot more work, theretrofitsource.com for refitting OEM type projector HID's into any 5 3/4 inch lens housing.
I did the retrofit source conversion on my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix which has one of the worst stock light output of any car I have ever owned…the lense is too small, poor quality (plastic), just plain junk. I took new stock GP lenses and refitted the OEM type projectors into those housings…35 watt HID's with an OEM type projector produces incredible light output...

I just wanted to respond to the L88 FIA Light questions I have noted on the forum. I manufacture this complete kit and have done so since 1971 when GM/Chevrolet decided to remove them from their performance catalog. Please check http://www.classicaircraftautoinc.com/ for details and pictures of several C3's and other products manufactured for the race car or replica. Thanks JimT195 In Tennesse FIA

Sorry for not uploading earlier since it was completed in 2017. T
By eliminating the OEM headlights and going with the FIA lites the amount of reduced weight completely eliminated the push in the front end when diving into the corners. Great improvement.
