I was just wondering if there was any companies or people that sell 100% restored C3 corvettes. I don't mean NCRS, but C3's that are all new. Not bought new 30 years ago and have 30 year old parts, but 30 year old cars that have all new parts on them.
Wouldn't it be cool to buy any year C3 that could be painted any color you wish, with whatever options you wanted? The cars wouldn't have to be matching numbers or anything but just new and would last.
How cool would this be:
Hello, I would like to order a 1970 LS5 please, manual trans, A/C, Richmond 6 speed, no wait...could you make that an L88 engine, did I say L88, I meant ZL1, can I get that in Electron Blue? Good.. OH YEAH, I need that in a vert with a white top please. I understand this is a special build, Yes I can wait 2 months. Don't forget the 3.36 rearend! I would also like 18" TT2 wheels and rear fender flares. How wide of tires can I get on there? Ah yes, thats right it depend on which suspension package, how about the VB&P best setup. One last thing, I would like the alpine stereo upgrade with MP3 player. Ok, thanks....Do you finance? My lucky day 0% - 5 year, no payments for 2 years!!!!

Hehehe...That would be really cool..I`m sure if you got the big wallet with you, someone will do it..I could build that for you if you are willing to spend the money..But it would not be cheap.. :yesnod: :yesnod:
Actually there is a company that does just that. I can't remember their name right now (senility? ) but the deal is that you tell them what you want as far as year, options, color, etc. They go out and find a vette and completely disassemble it and then rebuilt it the way you want it. The only catch is that you have to bring very big bucks. If I remember the name I'll post the company.
Ok, the alsheimers is over, I remembered. The company is called D&A Corvettes. Check them out at http://www.da-corvette.com

Like vettfixr said, bring big bucks.
tom...
If I remember right that is the price without the car being furnished. They will find one for you and you pay the price or you provide your own car.
$30,000 USD for an engine??? What the_hell is it made out of? I don't care if it's rebuilt or not, only a complete foul would spend that kind of money on a motor. This cannot possibly be a real company. My parents are loaded to the teeth in cash, and I know my father would laugh at those prices. The 'Vette I have is fully restored and only cost a fraction of those prices. Well, I guess there is one born a minute.

Well it states "These prices include D & A Corvette furnishing the car with standard equipment ".

Big bucks is right, and only a 12 month warranty!
You can find brand new cars. When I was looking for a 78 Pace Car I found one that was at a Chevy dealership, brand new, never titled, never driven. $125,000.00. :D :D
I thought “That would be cool”. I could buy this car, keep it a couple of years, drive it maybe 5000 miles, and what would I have? A perfect 1978 Pace Car with 5K miles. Worth what…. 25K? Man it would only cost me $20 a mile to drive that car, what a deal!
So the brand new cars are out there. But for some reason I can’t make the math work.
I personally would like to see GM reproduce a chrome bumper C3 with modern technology. Imagine a C3 with LS-5, 6 speed, A/C and so forth. I would also like to see them reproduce several other classics with the same modern drivetrains.
1955 Chevy Bel Air 2-door Hardtop
1957 Chevy Bel Air 2-door Hardtop
1969 Camaro
Ford did something like this when they offered a reproduction of a T-model (or maybe an A-model. Can't remember which) some years ago and offered them to the public via special order. I just don't see how the factory can lose on this proposition as popular as these cars were/are. And I don't think that it would detract from the value of the originals just like an L-88 clone doesn't lower the value of a real L-88.
Re: Does anybody sell "new" C3 vettes? (dladd74roadster)
This is basically what I will be doing with my 80. Fuel injection, overdrive, power everything, A/C, new suspension, freshened frame. Not sure exactly what I will do with the interior, but it will be somewhat updated. My estimations put the cost around 10-12k not including my labor.
At a big Classic Car event in Tampa a couple of years back - a company was offering brand new 58 Corvette replicas.. They came with a modern frame, suspension, 17" wheels and just looked like a modernized version of the original 58 Vettes! The price was not all that high- however - I don't rememver exactly how much it was.. They were offering several stages of the kit - including a completely assembled one.. However - they have to be titled as new cars because they are not based on original frame...
I don't think that they are offerning C3 Replicas... :( :(
