I've got my TH400 out of the car, I'm adding a B&M Holeshot torque converter. While I've got it out of the car, I'd like to replace some of the seals. I'm really looking for the front and rear seal and the seals or o-rings that are around the shift linkage and speedometer cable.
Are these parts available at a normal parts store? Unfortunately 99% of the parts guys are without a clue on what is what.
Also I need to know what I need to do to raise my full throttle upshift. Right now the tranny shifts at about 4600 rpm, which is below the point my ZZ4 makes peak power. I know that there is a governor with springs located on the top of the TH400, where can I get heavier springs to increase the shift point?
B&M makes a governer recalibration kit that comes with different springs and weights. I also wanted to raise my wot shift points, which were about the same as yours, but instead of messing with the governer I installed a B&M Trans Pak, which alows you to manually hold any gear to any RPM. Before I installed the kit, my car would shift at 4600 even if I held it in first manually. Not sure about part #'s for the o-rings.
Steve, just go by one of your local tranny shops. They buy everything in bulk and will give or sell you the necessary seals real cheap. Most are nice guys and like cool or performance cars also. Hershey :chevy
