Best as I can describe it.
After a 20 minute drive, and then a 45 minute shutdown, I went to start the engine and drive off. When I went to turn out of the driveway, the steering was jerky; the power assist portion was intermittent. I stopped, open the hood, and a very noisy Power Steering Pump was observed. Shut down and checked it's fluid level: it was good. Decided to drive home, believing a new pump was in order. As I drove into the garage, all was well: smooth turning in both direction and no noise.
Just to be sure look at all the steering components under the car to check for a minor leak. Control valve, hoses, steering cylinder and pump. Beyond that would only be guessing, pump starting to go.
