I have a 1978 Silver Anniversary that I bought new. My question is that the rear trailing arm spindles needs reworking, so I was thinking about just purchasing left and right trailing arms with spindle and sending in my old ones for the core. Is there any kind of number on the original trailing arms that would be significant that would cause me problems down the road that would say, HEY that is not original. Just didn't want to mess this car up with something that had certain numbers on it that would come back to haunt me later. I could send off the original trailing arms and have them reworked, but was thinking about just replacing them with ones that have already been reworked. Just speeds up the process of getting the car back on the road.
The turn around time is only a few days in most cases but I'm not sure about matching numbers that anyone takes into account. I'm pretty sure a c3 trailing arm is just a c3 trailing arm.
The supports on all c2 and c3 cars are date coded with the exception of the 63 early cars...
The reproduction backing plates are very close but not dead 100 percent correct. I'm not sure if that would cause an issue for you or not.
What you have to watch out for is the arms cobbled up with China import parts trailing arms which are the lower priced cheapo outright arms. They all contain imported supports and caliper mounting brackets which will not be correct for your car.
We can do your arms but the cost would be determined by how much you want done. If you just want new bearings and seals installed with new front bushings the cost is fairly cheap but there are options. If you want the arms and all parts detailed then the cost changes.
