Default Corvette Central True Dual question

OK, so I picked up the corvette central true dual system for my 82. Finally got around to checking the contents and I don't see any new bolts for the flanges that bolt to the factory headers? Is it possible they don't come with them? I really don't want to use the old ones and they really should come with them no? Havent checked the muffler box but why would they be in there? Anyone that purchased this kit have an idea?

My CC kit did not include new bolts either.

Thx Kevin, guess that settles it. How difficult was the install for you?

I think it would have been easier if I purchased the whole kit. I felt that the muffler inlets were too close to my tires, I have 285/45/18's, so I used the same mufflers but with center inlets. I had to alter the last bend and pipe after the rear spring. This made it difficult to just use the clamps as the angles were just slightly off. I also tucked the mufflers up a bit more and changed the tips as I like them almost invisible. I ended up having a local muffler shop finish the job and weld the joints. With the complete kit you should not have the same issues I had.
Have fun.

I ordered a set for my wife's 78 and a complete exhaust for my 69. No bolts. The 2 1/2 inch exhaust on the 69 goes down to 2 inches just behind the mufflers so no point in ordering larger. I'm actually kind of happy with it...

QUestion, Im working on it now, have the old exhaust removed and started lining up the new system starting with the piece that attaches to the header flanges. At the rearward end of that piece, back by the crossover pipe and the o2 bung there are 2 brackets that are welded to the pipes. They dont line up with anything and keep bumping into the tranny crossmember??? What are they? DO I just bend them out of the way? Am I supposed to drill into the frame???? HELP???

Yes, (at least I did) there are no instructions but I drilled two holes, smaller than the bolts supplied so they would thread themselves in tight. It's been almost two years and everything is still holding. No rattles and I really do like the overall system and sound.

Yes you drill the cross member for these mounts but don't just bolt them hard to the cross member. there should be rubber hanger straps mounted to the cross member that hang down and these bolt to the hanger brackets on the exhaust pipes.

OK, got that part, next question. Just after where the cat would be there is another bracket that holds up the system, more of a flatter elongated type rather than round with the bottom that swings out when you take out the bolt. SInce the old system was one pipe at this point the bracket hits the second pipe that goes to the drivers side muffler and pushes it over a little, did you guys remove this bracket? Its mounted with 2 rubber mounts and looks like the easiest way to do it is cut through the rubber mount????

NVM,,, couldn't wait so I decided to cut that bracket out. It instantly gave me the room I needed to properly line up the drivers side. All buttoned up, tools away, and a quick testride. Actually seems quitter than my stock system although my stock system didn't have a cat. That was more of a gurgling type sound, this sounds a bassier or deeper rumble when you get on it. All in all Im happy, wasn't the easy bolt in I thought it was going to be, probably took 7 hours start to finish. Thank you all for your help!

7 hours sounds like an easy install to me. I spent about 12-16 hrs getting the CC 2-1/2 dual pipes installed, including ripping out the old Y-pipe & cat. Put on "hideaway" mufflers & turndown tips.

With a set of instructions it could have been less but certainly not the 2 hours some guys said it took.

For the 82 the exhaust manifolds have threaded studs and the flange is held on with nuts. You will have to use your original ones. Don't forget to use anti-seize. I have this kit on my 82 as well. Fit very nice.
