No, they are not mine, just passing this along as I have seen alot of discussion on these.
tom...
The guy says in the ad that those pipes sell for $1600 new......
That is :bs !!! You can get new Hooker Sidepipes complete for less than $1100!!! I paid $905 (including shipping) for my set!!
From their appearance it appears Hooker side pipes don't incorporate a catalytic converter. If this is true, how do the cars in states with annual emissions testing (eg, Illinois) get pass certification?

I don't think that if would be too difficult for a weld shop to fit cats int the pipes...... However - I've never seen Hookers with cats...
Olivier - Where did you get yours so cheap ? And does that price include the muffler inserts?
I bought mine at "Internet Racers Supply" for $899 + $6 s/h...
(now they are called racenet.net) http://www.racenet.net/
(I don't know if they still carry them)
This didn't include mufflers. However - you can get CCI inserts as cheap as $60 / each. Glasspacks are a little bit above $100 for both pipes... I run straight pipes and love the sound and performance!! The stock style mufflers are junk anyway - costing you lots of HP!!!! The only 2 types of High Performance mufflers are JCL'S STS Baffles or CCI Inserts.. However - the CCI inserts are VERY LOUD - almost as loud as open pipes!!!

If you note he states that they are for 68-73. No catalytic converters on those cars so no issue there. Bet they will also fit a 74 which also does not have catalytic converters. For 75 and newer then you have the catalytic converter issue.
I'm thinking of putting my Harley up for sale on e-bay. I would be a new time person. I have never put anything on e-bay or bought anything on e-bay. That dose not mean that I would rip anyone off!!!!
13 hours left and still no bids. Maybe Ebay people are wising up to these newcomer sales, that you get ripped off on. :yesnod:
Road Racer - You are indeed in a class by yourself then. I myself got stung once by a newbie on Ebay, as have a lot of other Forum members. I'm not saying that everyone will rip you off, but there are quite a few. :flag
I see one of two things happening here, either will be a no sale and will show up again with a lower reserve or someone will come in during the last minute of the auction and take it.
Just a piece of worthless information here that I stumbled on while trying to find a set of hooker headers. I took a wild stab at the website and guessed http://www.hookerheaders.com and it takes you to EBay and does a search for them. Kind of cool I thought.
