Hello,
I am looking at a 72 T-Top that is a real clean car and the price seems right.
Can anyone help me understand the VIN#? Here it is 1Z37K2S511773. The engine has the same code with CKW after the vin stamped on the block. Its a 4 speed small block car with no a/c. If someone could help me idetify the VIN it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe :chevy
Thank you sir, so it appears this was a low optioned C3? Is there a web-site or someplace i can work with to identify the rest of the numbers. I would like to know the factory colors ect.
Joe

There is a trim plate on the iside of the drivers close to the windshield tha tshould tell the outside color and the interior color. Past tha tyou need to find the build sheet. This is located on top of the gas tank or under the seat or stuffed behind the dash. Good luck on finding this. It is almost always gone or destroyed by now. The trim plate is silver in color and about 2 inches by 4 inches. The numbers are codes for the colors. Find them and post them and we can figure out the colors.

Man! Thanks, to everyone who responded. This Forum is the most valuable corvette research tool I have ever seen.. You feel like your not alone, when restoring or modifying your corvette.
Thanks again and I hope I can return the favor sometime.
