Been looking at the various mufflers available for sidepipes and wondered if anyone had made their own spiral type baffles?
Obviously a bit of science behind it but from what I can see, an open tube down the middle with a spiral around the outside..... Has to be cheaper making a set than buying and shipping to the UK, any thoughts?
As a side thought, would I be correct in thinking the max flow inserts are the loudest, least restrictive ( apart from the spirals ) from the likes of Hooker and Dougs?
Sweet thunder 2.5 sound great but are too loud for me. I made inserts with 2.5 glass packs from Cherry bomb. Sound good at idle and not too loud at 55 mph.
I looked at both the Hooker and Dougs Max Flows. Seem to be similar in price.
I did have a true dual chambered exhaust on my previous car and liked the sound.
I still think it would be a bit of fun to have a go at making some spiral style inserts.

I'm convinced you could make your own. I doubt there is any real science behind the baffles. Just noise reduction and tone.
