1980 C3. 700R4 conversion. TV cable and throttle cable bracket they used is a cheap flimsy one. Purchased the holley bracket. Very nice. But....I have a non stock application. 1 inch spacer is in place below the carb so the throttle cable is too short to mount in the bracket. By about, yep 1 inch. So have any of you experienced this? Did you find a good solution, like maybe a cable from another GM vehicle that worked? Any open to some suggestions that don't include another cheap chrome chinese made brake that bends and flexes.
So i see folks are reading but no replies. I found a cable at NAPA that appears to be 1.75 inches longer which should be about perfect. Will post part number if its correct. For the TV cable I have a couple options. Keep the braided line, or install the OEM type I have from TCI (universal one). Either way I have the line pressure gauge connected so when I get things running thats how I intend on setting final adjustment. One thing I have yet to find are the expected pressures. I have the invoice from the rebuilder so I will likely just call them and ask.
I'm still waiting for them to arrive so I can't say if they will fit.
I searched the forum but couldn't find the specific Lokar numbers, so I took a chance and ordered them.
This is for a Q-jet

Yeah, my current tv cable is a Lokar. I have read quite a few bad reviews on the Lokar stuff. The OEM cables are great and they fit in the firewall without any mods. The holley bracket is stout. Ugly, but stout. I am going to paint it or powder coat it. I just got tired of checking my old bracket as it would flex an move no matter how much I cinched it down. With a 700R4 TA cable thats not a good thing so I opt'd for the ugly bracket that provides the best mount.
