Radiator hose

I have an aluminum water pump on my new engine that seems to have a larger size inlet fit the lower radiator hose. The stock hose will not fit and the wp inlet measures at 1.9 ( ingesting the lip is 2.0...need to measure that). Had anyone cane across this with aftermarket water pumps? Our find a hose that will work with 2.0 x 1.5 openings? Ford hose will not make the bend without kinking.

78 with 383 sbc.

I've never had a problem with an Edelbrock/GM aluminum pump.......if you have a China pump...all bets are off should be 1 3/4" size.

Let Me clarify. This pump was not ordered as a replacement for a78 vette...just a sbc short water pump. I did not realize there were different sizes.

All of the small blocks and big blocks use 1-3/4" hose. I always lube my hoses with liquid dish washing liquid soap and they slide right on.
