hi again friends. Well my son and I are making progress on his 1980. We are replacing leaf spring and all rear bushings and differential seals etc and so far we have exhaust off and spring out and most of the u joint straps off. BUT it appears Bubba got ahold of the drivers side u joint at the side yoke and actually drilled a hole through the yoke to bolt on the joint. Apparently they must have broken a strap bolt off in the yoke. Anyway it looks like I'm gonna have to replace the drivers side yoke once I pull the differential. RIGHT?
Also the half shaft on the passenger side came off the yoke fine but the cups r stuck into the spindle flange and I can't get the axel off. Should I just continue to soak with oil and b patient

Thanks for all the advice.
I can't visualize what you're talking about. Can you take some pictures?
Ok. Will try to get pics when I get home. But for the joint going into the yoke one of the strap bolts is actually a nut bolt combo. So they drilled a hole all the way through the yoke where the strap attaches
For the spindle flange i have the u joint straps off but the axle won't budge.
