Some people here have not only the month and year of production in their signatures but also the exact day it rolled off the assembly line.
How do I figure out the exact day my baby rolled off the line???
Well, I'm not sure if I can help you with a failsafe date, but check the link on my home page to the Vette Birthday Calculator in the right hand margin. The Vette b-day calculator sponcered by NCRS and will give you an approximate date of production. The accuracy should be within a couple of days. A link to my home page is in my sig.
I don't know if you can tell the exact date, but if you have a trim tag on your vette, you can get pretty close.
Look in the drivers door jamb hinge area and there should be a trim tag that has Chevrolet stamped across the top. To the right of that word is a letter and 2 number stamp. That is the month (letter) and day (2 number) of the day your vette's interior was put in, probably a couple of days before rolling out the door.
I agree with Rich. I posted a thread a few weeks back - and many methods were used.
The trim tag (IMO) is the most accurate. Post your trim tag date code, if you don't have a book to tell. Or use the NCRS calculator to get the month and year- then narrow in on the exact day by adding 2-3 to the date code
from the trim tag.
Here is my thread from before: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=347896
I just noticed that you have a 76. Below are the months of production for 76 with the last VIN produced for each month.
August 75 = 401602
Sept 75 = 405693
Oct 75 = 409982
Nov 75 = 413481
Dec 75 = 416696
Jan 76= 420568
Feb 76 = 424370
Mar 76= 428760
April 76 =432805
May 76 = 436656
June 76 = 440830
July 76 = 444767
August 76 = 446558
Now if your trim tag has a "A" that would stand for 1st month of production or August 75.
"B" would stand for 2nd month (Sept 75 ) and so on.
The 2 numbers simply stands for the date of that month.
Damn! ...lol. My 76 Vette was given to me as a running heap after I was in a near fatal motorcycle accident. As soon as she stalled in my drive way while backing out I fell in love, I knew it was fait. I recently figured out she was built in October... I was born in October of 76, but she was born in 75.
Oh well... at least we're both Libra's! ...I wonder if the day is any where near...???
