So I finally found a quick suitable replacement for my L82. Guy rebuilt it we checked it over all new everything fresh bore. New flat tops rods and crank. Measured out close to 10_5_1 .
But he says it's a 1969 camaro 350.
Been try to track down numbers. There are 3970010, H15, and on the rear there is dz48.

It has right number heads to be a 1969 458624. I will take the paint off the tab in the passenger corner see what's under that.

There is a pad on the block at the front of the passenger's side head. The original engine ID code was stamped there. Check to see if the numbers are still on the pad.

That block was used in alot application from 68-79 from 185 to 370 hp, could very well be a camaro engine, only way to know for sure is to look where mike said and hope the stamp hasn't been milled off. If it has then its anyone's guess, 4 bolt mains would likely eliminate low performance applications.

That's actually D248, which means the block was cast on April 24, 1968 or 1978 or 1988, etc. I believe April 1968 predates production of 3970010 blocks, so my best guess is that it is from 1978.
