Flickering lights, Bad altenator?

Flickering lights, Bad altenator?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The Ampmeter has always 'vibrated' a lot.
I almost NEVER drive the car at night and the few times I did I doubt I was really paying attention to the dash lights.
But tonight I noticed that not only was the ampmeter swingwildly back and forth ( like +- 40 )but the dash lights were flickering at the same frequency :U
Does this sound like a bad altenator?
Or could there be another cause?
I have checked and the grounds are good and the wireing is tight...

Oh Yes!
I have a volt meter in mine, it didn't do the pulse and read a little over 13 volts running, but my lights would flicker like crazy! Pulled my alternator, had it tested, one of the diodes were bad. Got a lifetime one now, smooth lights

still sounds like a bad ground to me.....did you remove the grounds, clean or sand the metal on the frame ground and reattach? maybe a bad/intermittent ground lug or loose wire? :confused:
