Default Identify part please

I believe I know what this is but just looking for verification.

This was installed in my heater hose between the engine and the control valve.

Is this stock or did someone add this. Looks to be a shutoff to prevent hot water entering the heater core.

Also, anyone know where I can find one just like it.

Thanks for the help.

Russ

Mr. Russ;; Go to the local hardware & buy a 3/4 " Pex Brass Ball Valve W/short handle shut off & ( 2 ) Stainless Steel hose clamps just long enough to fit for a neat insulation! The 3/4 " brass ends fit into the hose, Perfect. It won't rot out like the steel one you found. You will have to keep hoping that someone who knows more about the car, But In my Opinion, the valve you have was added at some point to keep heat out of the cockpit, if that were possible, LOL I' sure there is a forum note explaining these shut offs addition, Note if you can not find a short handle, take the handle off when not changing heat. Have a Ball. Gene

Thanks Gene!

I'll stop tomorrow and pick one up. The PO didn't do a good job of taking care of the engine or heating/cooling system.

Thanks again.
