I'm looking to purchase an aftermarket AC for my 45 year old baby, do you have any recommendations? I understand this is a challenging task, I'd like to hire someone experienced in corvette modifications in the Midwest, more recommendations?
I just purchased the Vintage Air for my '79, about $1350 shipped to FL. In the process of installing it at the moment. Read reviews on this forum by doing a search, hard to find a bad review on it.
It has been a fairly easy install for me, but have had to make some modifications as it was really not made for a '79.
I replaced the factory system in my 69 350/AT with a Vintage Air Gen IV System in the fall of 2008. I highly recommend the system! Great product and support and still working great.

Thank you for the info, I'll definitely look into it
I had Vintage Air put in my '72 LeMans and it works great. That car was a sweat box last summer and this year it's been nice and cool. I also just installed it in my '71 Corvette, but haven't had a chance to get it charged yet (I built a new engine, installed Borgeson power steering and put in new carpet at the same time).
