Center console and gauges removal

Center console and gauges removal
I am trying to remove the center console and the gauges. I would like to know what type of tool is used to remove the gauges, (it looks like they come out separately).
I have tried hex nuts, torx tools and star tools. They just don't fit.
I will be putting in a new stereo and also checking the interior lights around the console. Any thing else I should check out while I have it apart?

The gauges come out of the FRONT (engine side) of the center instrument cluster. The cluster has to be removed first and then the gauges can be removed.
