Numbers on pad of block on a L71 427 with 3 deuces
I just picked up a 69' Vette that has a 427 L71 motor with 3 deuces. Only 26,000 miles on it. Been sitting in storage. Question is on the pad on the block were the matching portion of in numbers and specs there is only one group of 6 numbers stamped in the pad starting with CE.?
Any ideas on why this short amount of numbers stamped?
Thank you.

I had a previous 427/435 that had a "CE" block in it and it is my understanding that it was a dealer installed warranty engine. I didn't know it at the time and just thought that one of the previous owners had blown up the engine and thrown in another. If you bought the car and it was not a matching-number-engine car, this is the next best thing.
