Transmission help please
Hi
I have a 75 with auto trans. 120,000 miles
It is leaking in the back area, way up, I need to take it in to a trans shop to fix it.
Is there any stopleak fluids I can add to stop the leak for awhile?
I would like to save some money first before taking it to a trans shop.

Stopleak products swell the seals and they stop leaking---- for a little while.
In the rear, up high, there's not much to leak. I'd start with the common rear area leak spots. 1. Speedo cable adapter and seal. 2. Output shaft seal.
Speedo cable adapter and seal is easy- unscrew the cable off the adapter then there's one bolt that holds the adapter in the trans. Pull that bolt and the keeper and it will pull out. New o-ring on the adapter, a new seal on the speedo driven gear shaft and put it back in..
