Default Ignition shield sits too high

On my 69' 427 tri power, the ignition shield sits way too high above air cleaner causing the wing nuts that hold top cover of ignition shield box to hit inside of hood. The brackets are a fixed length. The brackets seem to bolt into the right location.
Does anyone have an idea how to lower the height so the air cleaner and top of box are at an even height without cutting brackets and welding them shorter?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe you have the wrong length (repro?) brackets? (A picture would help.)

What's different about yours?

After installing an HEI distributer cap and Moroso plug wires on my '74, my radio works well without the shielding. It isn't stock any more but would solve the problem.

Here's a pic.
I'm not sure what the correct length of each bracket should be. I tried to find that on the Internet with no luck. From the bottom of the shield box to the engine would be helpful.

To start with, your brackets and ignition shielding box are installed backwards. Try swapping the brackets left to right and spin the ignition shielding box 180*.
The tops of the brackets shouldn't arch fowards.
The wider part (front to back) of the ignition box should be on the passenger side.

Holly Toledo !!! I did not realize the box was backward. Just purchased the C3 2 weeks ago.
I will turn the box around and see if it cures the height issue. If not I will look into the correct brackets. Car only has 26,000 miles on it. Brackets look original, but you never know.
Thanks guys!

Just remove ignition shield box as it was backwards. The brackets have tags on them from Ecklers. SB. Your right SB brackets. Time to order correct brackets. Thanks again.
