I just love the Idea of having a rear window that can pop in and out .
So I started to look for all the parts but I thougt I would throw out this question out there.
For those of you who either have this option stock on your 68-72's or those of you who have converted a 73-77 to this set up, I seek any and all opinions, tips, tricks and information on this little project.
Thank you
I would LOVE to see someone say that there is an "all-in-one" kit to do this. Everyone I have talked with says you just have to hunt around to gather all the necessary parts/pieces. I wanna do this to my '73 but I've visted several junkyards and no luck finding everything.
It's cake to do.
Really arnt any tips or tricks, take out the old parts, put in the new ones.
I got my window on ebay, bought the rest of the parts from vendors, I think most of them came from zip.
All you need it the window, hinges, and interior panels.
I didnt get the tray though as I'm making a custom thing for it.
Use the search feature. there are several posts about how to do this and the parts needed. One post has a picture of all hte parts needed: the pictures show the two piece overhead trim as used in the 68/69 models, the 70-72 used a one piece overhead trim.
It is an easy job, but patience is required. Can do on a afternoon and evening. I have installed two rear windows in 73's and have had no problems.
The parts have come from ebay, swap meets or salavge yards. If you are going to Carlisle this weekend you should be able to find the parts there. Cost for all the parts was about $200.
