You stated the heim joints style used in the 9" Ford rear end adaptation to the IRS setup....are not suitable for street useage....I have seen them used many times, and indeed the same setup is used in Steeroids rack/pinion conversions...
Personally I have no experiences with those nylon/plastic inserted heim joints on a daily driven street machine....I don't like the idea any better than you, but I was wondering exactly what basis you have for your comment???
I see it as a premature wear, dust/dirt getting into the joint also..especially when it's under wind/rain conditions.......just wondering if anyone has any practical experiences with them....under heavier useage than say just a hotrod for the weekends....
I have been running teflon coated rod ends in my rear camber rods for three years now, I have about 8000 to 10000 miles on them, and a lot of track time ( road course not drag ) they are tighter than a ... well they are still the tightest thing on the car :D
