I installed a Custom Autosound unit with a remote CD changer and rear speakers. Took two evenings after work. The mess behind the gage console is not that bad. There are better sounding units than the CAS, but I really wanted the CD and didn't care about the sound quality as my 73 L-82 is a bit loud to hear hi quality music in.

the previous owener put a tape deck in, put used the old fashion two turn ***** style (can't think of the proper name)....I would like to put in a high end sony CD player.....put would need to remove the DIN brackets......
I used Custom Auto Sound as well. It may not be the best sounding unit out there but I didn't want to do any carving and besides, who can tell with the top down?? I replaced the dash speakers with Kenwoods (I can get you the model #'s if you like) Put some Rockford Fosgates in the kick panels, and built a custom box / mount containing 2 6" rounds, an 8" sub, a 500 w amp and a 6 cd changer. Did it all in a week end for about $1,200.00

I got them from Summit. They're Spectra SSFlex hoses. They're not the kind that use the special fitting because I didn't want to go that deep in my pockets. The connectors just have a worm clamp hidden under the fitting. They go on just like regular hoses but are a real bear to cut. I ended up using a cutoff wheel to cut them.
I have a convertible instead of a coupe but I did mine like this. All remote control. The CD changer is behind the passenger seat. I didn't want to change anything on my dash since it's all original and works.
