Well congratulations and welcome to the C-3 community and the forum. Yes, a lot of problems can come from a car just sitting and rotting away. But once you have your Corvette guy get it in shape you can have a lot of enjoyable driving without a lot of maintenance costs, I use mine as a daily driver . Gasoline cost is another matter.
FWIW there are a number of Vette clubs in the valley.

Is a good informal group. Lots of joking and some great cruises & get togethers.
Did you take it to Doug Bromley? What part of the valley are you in?

I am in Mesa near the Tonto National Forest...so far east Mesa. We were referred to a guy in Tempe, but we couldn't get a hold of him. We ended up taking it to Vette Culture which is closer to us than the referral we were given. Fingers crossed...they picked up the car yesterday and I am waiting on a quote for the three items that need to be repaired. Once the car is in tip-top shape, my husband and I will be looking into joining a Corvette club. We will look into the one you recommended. Arizona is such a beautiful state and we are looking forward to seeing it in a Vette!
