A couple of weeks ago, I need to change the alternator of my 79 vette. Bought rebuilt 94 amp alternator and installed it, pretty straight forward so far. Here is where it gets interesting, first I have to admit that I was a bone head I did not disconnect the battery and while I was installing it the live power wire touch a part of the engine and big spark! The next day I noticed that my radio and my horn plus interior lights were not working, so today i replaced 2 fuses. I tested by turning the key to the on position and everything worked but when i turn on the motors and backup again the radio, the horn and lights were not working, I am sure that the fuses are blown. Please help me to where I should start to look, I don't have test tools.
No test light? Are you kidding me? Gees, they only cost about $6 and every auto parts store will have several of them. If you're going to own and drive a Corvette you MUST have tools.

I've owned it for 20 years and i still have no test tools but i have tools, so do you have any suggestions?
Found the most important tool is between your ears. No matter how narrow the space. Did you check your gage circuit board. You may have blown a ground trace on it.
