Default Trailing arm bushings

How can I tell if they need to be replaced?

Well, on mine.....

It was on a frame lift, I put a long screwdriver up there and could see it move. Got my big Channellocks, grabbed it and the bolt and bushing were solid, but the arm rocked back and forth. I was looking for something, because it looked like the tire was rubbing the frame, I somehow broke a camber rod in my first 100 miles, and the PO had broken the other right before I bought the car.

Are you having alignment issues not related to strut rod bushings?

Well, I'm replacing the oe struts (bent right side) with new adjustables. I already have the rear end broken down for that job. I noticed my trailing arm (without struts, spring and shock connected) is able to twist in place a bit. Didn't know if this was normal or if it meant the bushings were needing to be replaced.

I don't believe mine move left to right... Just twists in place. I'll double check on horizontal movement tonight.

That is normal as long as they don't move up/down or front/rear

Oh, good news then! They definitely don't move up or down. Very solid in that regard.

Thanks!

Well, it turns out the only the left side was good (the only one I checked up to this point). Have new bushings on their way....

Thanks again.
