I want to replace the hood release handle without removing the bracket. After I remove the nut/stop at the end of the wire and pull on the handle, it only comes back about 2 inches and stops. Do I just need to use some muscle? Don't want to break something and I don't want to buy a new handle until I know I can get the old one out safely.
The cable has no other stop on it except that fitting at the end. Chances are (if it's anything like mine was) the cable is bent/deformed where the fitting was clamped on and that is getting caught on the entrance to the cable sleeve.
While we're on the subject, where does the bracket bolt to? Mine was Bubba'ed with a universal choke cable, I can't seem to find where the bracket bolts to.
