Default '69 deck lid hinge problem

The hinge mounting tabs for the two upper bolts looks to have been slotted by a PO and the bolts had oversized washer. The reason being the holes on hinge are about 1/2-3/4" higher than the body holes going into the gutter. I see suppliers sell different deck lid hinge nut plates, 68-70 and 71-75? Would the hinge be different as well? Maybe PO put on a set of later hinges? Any information on differences between years is appreciated.

That's going to be a hard one. Originally there were the following.

68-69 3930348
70 3958890
71-75 3995021

I've always thought they enter-changed with each other without issue and possibly the po of your car was just trying to get more adjustment out of the hinge. This is common when you are working with a car that has had previous damage.

We had to fix one last year that was a complete mess. If you are on facebook you can view this and the repair at this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...6912924&type=3
