Default Tire Balancing Beads

Made an appointment with the tire shop to get my tires switched over to the old school ET aluminum slot wheels. While talking to the guy about wheel weights, I told him there should be enough clearance for the tape weights since I had to use a spacer. He asked if I wanted to use balancing beads in lieu of tape weights to balance the tires. I was wondering if anyone had experience with the balancing beads.

I've used them in motorcycle tires with no problem and they seem to work.

My Brother in law swears by them. He has them in is ram 3500 and his Honda Goldwing. Personally I like to do regular wheel balance with aluminum mags and instead of putting weights on the outside, there's usually enough back space to put the weighs in from behind up against the mag face. Then the inside weights put them where you normally place them. Finding an a hole shop that will take the time doing it and doing it right is the hard part

Default Counter Act tire balance beads

I use Counter Act tire balance beads in everything...Peterbilt, Corvettes, Dodge RAM, Jeeps and all trailer tires. I have never had a problem with this brand in over 15 years. The 4oz bags are usually the most common for our Corvette applications. You might try Grismer Tire or any of the semi truck tire places along I75. Someone has them locally.

So, to the guys who have used the beads, did you have any issues with the tires being unbalanced at slow speeds. Like less than 35-45 mph?

Not really. I've used these mostly on my larger tires. However my BFG 's on my C3 has Counteract in them and I see no difference in the balance at any of my speeds.

Thanks for the reply, I'm leaning towards trying these

no, I think anything over 10mph and they balance right out.
