Default My 1969 LS-1 is running

Not many people on the Forum know I was doing this. But it is finally running. I installed an LS-1 from my 97 C5 in my 1969 Roadster. Here are a couple of pictures.

Looks awesome. What did you do with the 97 after ripping it's heart out? :)

It has a 4L60E Automatic. It lined up better, and I wanted the automatic.

Thanks

Way cool! :yesnod:

Did you put the '69 engine in the '97? Where you just bored one day and decided to swap them for the fun of it? :jester

I wish I had two Vettes. :cry

The perfect mix of late model drive train with early model STYLE! This has long been a favorite theme of mine. One day, I will take a stab at it.
Did you complile a list of helpful tips and tricks during the swap that you can share?

Please post the performance statistics after you get everything dialed in.

Super

It's nice to see an entire LS-1 (versus the 80% or so you can see in a newer car).

Sounds like you've got quite a pair of Corvettes now :yesnod:

Those are REALLY nice pictures. I saved both of them in my "stash" of Vette pics (over 800 pics and counting!).

Vette Magazine did a feature photo shoot 1 1/2 weeks ago at Vettes on the Rockies. And I won the Editors choice at Super Chevy Show last weekend in Denver.

I am waiting to get a few more miles on the car before putting it on the Dyno. It gets about 15-16 mpg. So far. 2nd tank in the car now. It has the same cam and heads I put in the C5, it does have the Z06 intake also. And it has 3.70 rear end. The C5 has 3.15 and gets about 18 mpg. :chevy

Awesome job, dude! I hope you will share the tricks of doing it for the rest of us that, perhaps in the future, will do the same thing to one of our cars.
