Ok I got the second round of mufflers from mid america. This time they both say dynomax, not one and the other super turbo. It appears you would be able to see right through them except for the in and out ofset are different. The part numbers are 17765 with 9 215 under it and 17764 with 9 215 under it. Are these super turbos or ultra flow. What should the prices of the two different kinds be. I need to know if mid america is pulling a fast one on me! Thanks!
I have a Dynomax catalog from 1993 but doubt that the part #s have changed. Both of those are listed for Corvettes in the Super Turbo section. Hope this helps.
Thanks lots guys...so Mid America is selling $40 mufflers for $106.00 each. Huh, I think I have had my last dealing with them. From what I have heard I dont think I want the superturbos...I think I will get some flowmaster 40 deltas instead. What a rip off that would have been!
Ok can someone tell me what will fit, i have had enough BS with the vendors suggestions. I want the flow 40 deltas, i have a 2 in exhaust, i have the 73 tips on the car and a set of 70-72 tips in the box new that were going to be needed to hook up the mid america mufflers. I have a shop that can probably make most things work, but which fits the best. A part # would be great. God I love this forum!
I would have your shop replace your 2" tubes with 2.5" ones, also make sure you get the 2.5" offset in and centre out. I went with the Ultraflows because they have the highest cfm rate and I do not get the resonation in the cab that many get from the Flowmasters. I love the sound of the flowmasters myself and I would have gone with the 50's just to reduce the sound levels.
I used the Super Turbo muffler 2.5 inch 17733 off set in,center out .4 1/4 x 9 3/4 case . Case length 14 inch for perfect fit. The 17757 muffler is a off set in and out muffler. Not the correct one for Corvette.
With a H pipe they are ultra quiet on a stock motor. That's the way I wanted it with a huge cam and high compression. Would have been way too loud with anything else imo and now is not so quiet with the new motor
31.00 each through Jegs The oval case Ultra Flows are 59.00
Summit has a nice turbo muffler on sale this month for 14.00. Just use those dimensions when ordering if you chose the Summit muffler
mountainmotor,
Assume the specs you give are for the 74. Will these specs also apply to a 73 like DollaGreen has? Wondering due to the different tails and different exhaust routing.
