Ive got the steeroids rack for my 78 vette, been on the car for a few years now, when doing some work to the car recently, noitced if u move the wheel left to right(9 and 3 o clock), the plate attached to the rack seems to be moving, is this normal or not??
I had exactly the same problem with mine a couple of months ago with the plate rocking just the same as yours ,i got in touch with steriods and they recommended that i change the nylon follower with a steel one,(they advertise them on there website )it fits behind that large plate that is currently rocking and was quite an easy job to change as long as you can get the car up in the air enough, changing this part fixed the problem ,i've since done 2500 miles including an 1800 mile holiday trip and its still good ,you will also notice that the car is much better in a straight line again and doesn't wonder .
I did initially just tighten the old one down but it didn't last long,The Steriods on my car had done about 20k before the problem accoured
