Default 1981 computer harness

It's been a while since I removed the computer harness and would like to know where it goes through the firewall? I seem to remember removing the wiper motor but I really can't see behind it. I remember putting a plastic plug in the hole. Now I want to run the new computer harness back through it.

hey stew-

thought i may be able to help as I had just removed mine from my '81

The original harness came through the firewall through the grommet just to the left (standing on the left side of the car, closer to you) of the vacuum tube grommet for the headlights.
It's set at kind of a 45 degree angle away from you on the firewall..

Hope it helped..

Thanks, I just went out there and removed the wiper motor and then a saw the plastic cap I installed where you said. It seems bigger that I remembered which is good, makes things easier.
Want to make sure I had enough harness to mount the new ecm where the old one was in the battery box or the other compartment.
