Paint Question - Silicon Remover
For those of you who removed your paint either via chemical stripping, sanding, or blasting, what product did you use to remove the silicon that could cause fisheyes?
Also, did you get any fisheyes after using the product?

I used a wax and silicone remover by RM Diamont. Most any name brand wax and silicone remover, commonly referred to as Prep-Sol, should work fine as long as you apply and remove it correctly. The best way to use it is to put some in a spray bottle and spray each area thoroughly, then use clean paper towels to remove it. Move to the next area, spray, and use new towels, etc. You don't want to spray it on the towels and wipe, since you may just move the wax and silicone around instead of actually removing it.
I had no problems with fish-eyes after cleaning and stripping my car. Solvent pop is another story.... :crazy:
