I removed steering column and gauges , tach and speedometer, finished
reinstall and now I have no power showing at any of the gauges, there's power at fuse box, out of ignition switch, out of switch on top of steering column (rod is moving in and out), power at alternator. Problem is when the key is turned on nothing happens, I do hear a light sound when I turn the key on.
Thanks for any leads, Tony.
I had a short in my lighter that would blow the fuse to the dash lights when I pushed the lighter down. Sometimes it was difficult to tell that the fuse had blown. For the non starting, usually it is the fuesable link down by the starter that has blown. I'll have to check the AIM to see if there is another fuseable link, off hand I don't remember.
Thanks for the lead, I'll be checking all connections and fuses again, trying to find the wiring diagram. The problem is not that it will not crank over rather that when I turn the key on nothing comes on, I will follow the wires and try to find where I'm losing the power. I have to purchase the AIM, all I have is the Haynes manual but it's not specific to a 1969.
