Can someone tell me what the maintenance requirements are for a 70 to 72 LT-1, specifically the differences from a base motor, and what happens if it isn't done.
that should all be covered in your owners manual. if you do not have one, go to the parts store and buy a shop manual. maintenance intervals are generally spelled out pretty well on all the manuals I have seen.
70-71 LT-1s have transistor ignition so no points changes is a plus. Valve adjustments with stock cam/rockers/springs.....I check mine every oil change but you can probably go 6-10K miles between adjustments if your not revving it to redline and using it like Zora intended you to use it. The Holley carb can require more attention more often than a Qjet. The 70 LT-1 is on the ragged edge of octane requirements with the best grade of pump fuels and can require tuning due to te high compression.

Thanks Solid, thats what I was looking for, sounds like the valve adjustments could be a pain for a novice (like me). The reason I had asked was, I was looking at one to buy, but I think I would be in over my head.
